Patty Kloidt

Patty Kloidt is in her 19th year and owns a record of 197-100 (.663 win percentage) as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Hamilton College. In 2019 she coached an all-American and two all-region selections and had two players on the all-NESCAC team.

Kloidt has led the Continentals to the postseason 15 times, including seven trips to the NCAA tournament. Hamilton advanced to the conference championship semifinals in 2012, 2013 and 2017 under Kloidt. She has coached 15 athletes to a total of 22 all-America honors and 10 different players have made the all-NESCAC team.

The Continentals finished with a record of 12-6 and received an at-large bid to the NCAA championship under Kloidt in 2017. Hamilton tied for first place in the NESCAC standings with an 8-2 conference record, earned the No. 2 seed for the NESCAC championship and advanced to the semifinals. The eight conference wins and No. 2 seed are the best results in the team's nine years in the NESCAC. The Continentals were ranked as high as eighth in the coaches poll at the end of the regular season before they ended up at No. 14 in the final poll. Hamilton boasted a first team all-American, six all-region honorees and three all-conference selections.

Kloidt coached a pair of all-Americans, four all-region players and three all-NESCAC selections in 2016. The team won 10 games, including a victory against eventual NCAA Division II champion Florida Southern, and earned a spot in the conference championship quarterfinals. Kloidt picked up her 200th coaching victory in a 20-6 rout of Connecticut College on April 16.

Kloidt guided the Continentals to the regional semifinals (third round) of the 2015 NCAA championship after they won in double overtime at defending national champion Salisbury University in the second round. The Hamilton women were ranked 12th in the final poll and finished the season with a record of 12-6. The Continentals landed in fourth place in the NESCAC standings with a 7-3 mark and hosted a conference championship quarterfinal. Kloidt coached an all-American, four all-region honorees and a NESCAC all-conference team selection that year.

In 2008 the Continentals won their first NCAA title in team history and Kloidt was voted the Division III Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in her sixth year at Hamilton. She posted her 100th career head coaching victory against Middlebury College in a 2008 NCAA quarterfinal at home. That squad went on to set a program record with 21 wins and finished with a record of 21-1 en route to the national title. Kloidt's women played in the championship game in 2010 and advanced to the national semifinals in 2009.

In 2010 the Continentals won their first 21 games, were ranked No. 1 for much of the season, and advanced to the NCAA final for the second time in three years. Hamilton went 18-2 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA championship in 2011. The Continentals posted an overall record of 16-3 in 2007 and 2009. Hamilton reached the quarterfinals in 2007.

Kloidt earned New York Region Coach of the Year honors in 2007 and 2009, and she and her assistants were voted the Liberty League's Coaching Staff of the Year four times. Her program excels academically as well. Nine student-athletes made the 2020 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team and the team has been recognized as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad each of the past six years.

Kloidt led the women to Liberty League regular season titles in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011, and five consecutive league championship crowns from 2007 to 2011. Her teams won 49 of their last 50 games against league opponents. Kloidt mentored three Liberty League Players of the Year from 2006 to 2008. In 2011 Hamilton had the league's offensive and defensive player of the year and rookie of the year.

Kloidt spent four years as Le Moyne College's head coach before she arrived at Hamilton. Kloidt built women's lacrosse into one of Le Moyne's top athletic teams. The Dolphins enjoyed their finest season in 2002 when they won their first-ever conference title and earned their first NCAA championship berth. Kloidt was named the conference's coach of the year as a result of that season's success. She began her coaching career as an assistant on the Amherst College lacrosse (1998) and soccer staffs (1996 and 1997). She was a graduate assistant coach for Smith College women's lacrosse in 1997.

In 2009 Kloidt served as an assistant coach for Canada's Senior Team that won a bronze medal at the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic. She was added to the staff by the Canadian Lacrosse Association and the Canadian Women's National Team program in Ottawa.

Kloidt was a four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse at Penn State University and received all-region honors in 1994. She received a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science and went on to earn her master's in exercise and sport studies from Smith.

Erica Geremia-Mathers

Erica Geremia-Mathers joined the Hamilton College women's lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant in August 2019. She was previously an assistant at Colgate University.

In 2019 Geremia-Mathers helped lead Colgate to a 5-4 record in the Patriot League and the Raiders advanced to the conference semifinals for the first time since 2015. She coached four all-league team honorees.

Geremia-Mathers was on the staff at Washington and Lee University in 2017 and 2018. The Generals went 35-7 overall and 16-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), won two conference titles and made two NCAA Division III championship appearances. In 2017 she helped guide Washington and Lee to a team-record 19 wins as they advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the first time. The Generals collected the conference's coach of the year award in 2018. She coached four all-Americans, eight all-region and 19 all-conference selections, and a pair of conference players of the year.

Geremia-Mathers was one of the top offensive players in NCAA history during a four-year career that was split between SUNY Cortland and Le Moyne College. Her 490 career points are fifth-most all-time across all NCAA divisions and her 248 assists are good for third place. She was a four-time Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) first team all-American, the IWLCA Division III attacker of the year in 2014 and the Division II attacker of the year the following season. She was also a three-time Tewaaraton Award nominee.

At Le Moyne, Geremia-Mathers led the Dolphins to 36 wins and two trips to both the Northeast-10 Conference championship final and the NCAA Division II championship semifinals. She was voted the SUNYAC rookie of the year in 2013 after she racked up 62 goals and 74 assists for Cortland. She was selected the conference's player of the year in 2014 after a 124-point season. The Red Dragons went 43-3, won two conference titles and advanced to the NCAA semifinals twice.

Geremia-Mathers has served on the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game committee and attended the ODAC Women in Athletics Symposium and NCAA Women Coaches Academy. She holds a bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Le Moyne and has her master's degree in sport managament from Liberty University. She hails from Camillus, N.Y., and was a standout athlete at West Genesee High School. Erica, her husband Jeremy and their son Jace Mathers reside in Manlius.
