Taylor Sindall
Taylor Sindall enters her fourth season as the Head Women's Lacrosse coach for Frostburg State.
The 2023 season marked the top-performing season of Sindall's tenure, with a 12-7 record on the year culminating in the program's first Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship. Despite a tough non-conference start to the schedule, which featured matchups against three ranked opponents, the team went on a run in the conference, earning a 9-1 mark to secure the regular season title. A 17-0 victory over Davis & Elkins in the semifinals led to a commanding 17-10 win against rival Notre Dame (Ohio) in Bobcat Stadium to sweep the regular season and tournament titles.
Sindall repeated as the league's coach of the year, while star freshman Neila Haney earned IWLCA All-Region honors on her way to winning both the MEC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year. Haney set a new school record with 61 goals scored in the season, as the team as a whole also set records for goals (291), points (407), and goals against average (8.53). Four players were named First Team All-MEC, with three players on the Second Team and two earning Honorable Mention.
2022 marked another successful season for the program, with a 10-7 mark and another spot in the MEC Tournament Championship game. The team set new school records for goals (259) and draw controls (262) in a single season. Under her direction, 11 players earned All-MEC honors from the conference, with four First Team members, six on the Second Team, and a pair of honorable mention selections. Stephanie King was named the conference Offensive Player of the Year, while Sindall secured Coach of the Year honors.
In 2021, Sindall led the team to a 10-5 record and an appearance in the MEC championship game. The Bobcats went 9-3 in MEC play and led the conference in Goals Per Game (16.93), Assists Per Game (7.29), Points Per Game (24.21), Shots Per Game (39.21), Caused Turnovers Per Game (11.36), and Draw Controls Per Game (15.07).
Sindall coached 4 athletes to All-MEC 1st team (Stephanie King, Anna Kearney, Summer Cavey, Mackenzie Cramer), 3 for All-MEC 2nd team (Lilly Stephens, Emma Neff, Cammie Schniedwind), 2 All-MEC Freshman team (Anna Kearney, Witney Crosby), and 2 for All-MEC Honorable Mention (Lindsay Kohlmann, Witney Crosby). Along with the numerous All-MEC selections, Sindall coached a very decorated academic team with 12 All-MEC academic selections and was named an IWCLA academic squad for having a team GPA over 3.2.
Sindall, who arrived at FSU from Bucknell University, inherits a Frostburg program that opened the 2020 season at 2-2 overall and was picked to win the Mountain East Conference in the Bobcats’ first year at NCAA Division II.
Sindall served as the top assistant at Bucknell in 2019-20 and helped the Bison to a 3-5 overall record prior to the season being cut short. Bucknell opened the season with wins over Sacred Heart and Binghamton and was picked to finish ninth in the Patriot League. She served as the Bison recruiting coordinator, was responsible for all on-campus clinics and the marketing efforts involved and oversaw all team equipment. Sindall also worked as the second assistant coach at Bucknell for the 2019 season, helping three student-athletes to All-Patriot League athletic and academic honors.
Sindall was the associate head coach for NCAA Division III Goucher College for two seasons following a standout playing career for DII Limestone. She directed the offensive, defensive and draw strategies while at Goucher. She also developed and executed the Gopher strength & conditioning program, assisted with player development and evaluated student-athletes throughout the recruiting process. Three players earned All-Landmark Conference honors during her time at Goucher.
Sindall coached for the Elite Lacrosse Club and spent three years with the Frederick Star Lacrosse Club. She served as the director for the Ground Control Lacrosse Club and was a coaching/management intern for the Baltimore Ride.
She earned her master’s degree in education while working at Goucher and she graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in physical education/strength & conditioning from Limestone in May 2016.
She was a three-year starter and four-year letter winner for the nationally-ranked Limestone program from 2012-2016. She helped the Saints to four regular season Conference Carolinas Championships, three tournament championships, including an NCAA Division II National Runner-Up finish in 2013 and Quarterfinalist in 2014.
A two-time First Team All-CC selection, Sindall capped her senior season with numerous honors that include, Second Team All-South Region, Third Team All-American and an NCAA Woman of the Year nomination. She was also voted team captain in 2016.
In the classroom, she named the Limestone College and Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2016 and she was named to the CC academic honor roll in 2014, 2015, and 2016
